Forgive me if this has been posted already :blushing:

When I start SDK and Hammer for TF2, I get about 30-90 seconds of activity, then it locks up. I have to open the task manager to close Hammer from that point. This has been going on for several months and my quest for answers has brought me here. Anyone else having this issue, or know how to fix it? I've defragged, uninstalled/reinstalled SDK, verified files, deleted content, started from scratch, opened existing works. When I start Hammer, I get this in the messages window:

I have no idea how to correct those errors. I haz teh stumped.

The red errors are not the source of the problem, nor do you need to worry about them.

The only thing I notice is your install path is a little odd. Normally steamapps is directly under the steam folder, but you have that hl2 folder in there. Did you move stuff around or do something weird?

It's just how I installed HL2 when I first got it. I haven't changed any paths from the day I first installed Steam on this system, and Hammer worked fine for a long time.

Assuming that you have TF2 installed.

I forgot to add: Operating system?

4GB ram shouldn't be an issue.

Have you tried reverifying the Cache?
