The application has very from rate. Doing anything like navigating or make brushes is laggy. How can it be fixed?
Exit out of some windows usually makes the lag go away. Things I found out that can lag out hammer is TF2 or Counter Strike when it’s running in the background while you’re on Hammer.
In Tools > Options, turn off "Draw Vertices", it'll give a big performance boost, at least when using the 2D views.
Press 1 to decrease draw distance. Press 2 to increase it. Also helps a lot at times when you dont need to see far and map is big.
