Hello all, name is Running in Circles and I am part of the .::AI clan (www.clan-ai.com) and was referred here by Chicky, one of our clan leaders.

Anyways, I'm slightly new to mapping, but I have already created part of my Payload map I've been fiddling around with for the past month. It is currently called pl_hilltop, but that is still pending with there not being a hill in it yet :p

Here are some basic pictures:
As you can see, it still needs some work and the lighting is really screwy (hoping to get some advice here, but I will be posting questions over in a separate thread in the Mapping Discussion forum.)

Welcome!

Don't use HL2 textures in your TF2 map.

Lol, I honestly don't have a clue how to tell what textures are HL2 ones and what are TF2 (aside from the obvious ones like the colored computer walls and such)

Oh, and I do have some displacements...but I've been trying to flesh the map out before getting into small details.

Ah, ok. Now...how do I find out where those textures are so I can find them and make them look appropriate? I see I can mark them, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Well, I found out how to replace them. What I want to do is find out where that texture is so that when I do change it, I can change it to be something that looks appropriate.
