Goodwater - A jungle/forest themed reskin of badlands

Love Badwater, but sick of the dusty desert theme? Well, you have Goodwater! A Jungle/Forest reskin of Badwater!
Currently, the map is still early in the creation cycle. I don't believe that there are any custom props or textures in the map unless you count Borneo's props being custom PLEASE TELL ME IF IM WRONG. Another thing about the map is the fact that I had to replace rock005 with trees, as there is no forest version of rock005. Area Portals aren't implemented because Area Portals are annoying to work with (mainly its because I used a decompiled version of Badwater and the decompile broke all the Area Portals, I will get around to doing them. For now, the map is semi optimised with hint blocks)
I'm pretty sure that any medium range computer should be able to handle it just fine. (My computer is a medium end computer running the game at high-ultra settings)

Fun fact: This map started out as a joke between me and some of my "friends".

The map still has a lot of extra things to be implemented top being top of my list bottom being the bottom of my list.
    - Add Areaportals
    - Add extra details
    - Add more stuff to the skybox

i suggest you remake the skybox since it's meant to be for a different theme. maybe go for a fuck ton of trees or something.

Also you should probably use stuff from badwater pro, as the original badwater has some issues with it.

I propbly won't remake the sky box, however I will add a fuck ton of trees, in the pre release phase I had a waterfall in the skybox, however I removed it due to proplem so it was causing.
I will do a overhaul of the sky box, but not a complete remake.

Thank you for this! I was unaware of the forest rocks, however I have grown to like the trees. I will most likely make a compermise. I will state it below.

I most likely won't tinker in terms of Badwater pro, unless I make 2 versions of the map. One going the way of Abandoned Upward and one with just the idea of reskining it.

Good stuff but the metal textures on the buildings look like they belong in a desert theme still. More wood textures maybe?

MAKE SURE TO READ THE BELLOW
This map requires a number of custom props/textures, the links and credit to them are bellows.
"Abandoned" Theme Resource Pack by Py-bun
    Forest Rock 003, 005, 007, 003_skybox v2 by MaccyF
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THEM CORRECTLY

I updated a lot, added more trees and changed all of the Metal buildings have been made wood buildings. Also, all metal roofs have been replaced with medieval scaffolding. Please give me feedback on this, as I'm not sure about it.
Here are the new and improved screenshots.
Not all of the displacements are done. Keep that in mind.

Sounds like you'd benefit from learning how to pack custom content into the .bsp.

The easiest way is to use CompilePal.

Btw, those cliffs are straight up bananaland material. I think you can do better.

Rather than making the end user manually download and install the resources themselves, which will take time and effort and may resultingly discourage people from downloading the map, perhaps you should pack the resources into your map using a packing tool like CompilePal.
    EDIT: Ninja'd by a second...

I still have work to do on the cliffs, as this isn't the final version.
And thank you for telling me the tools I need to work with.

Use the grass/moss thingy on vertical surfaces very sparringly.

Most plants have a hard time settling on vertical surfaces. Especially on rock.

To better get an idea for how foliage acts, try looking at some pictures like this:

Some interesting things to notice in this picture:
    - Most of the vertical cliff face is devoid of plants and algae.
    - Greenery at the top of the cliff can hang out over the edge no problem
    - Greenery grows where there are horizontal "footholds", and can have branches or leaves hanging out from these footholds (increased surface = increased fotosynthesis)
    - Algae and moss concentrate around the water (nutrient) source. Plants that can grow on rock use rhizoids instead of roots, which means they depend on getting nutrients from their surroundings.

These are things you can take into consideration when deciding when to plaster green onto a wall. This is a fine example of "less is more" - that is, your foliage is more believable if you plaster the rocks with greenery very sparringly.
