Doesn't hammer have a function to turn brushwork into a prop? If you did that could you use Untouch's way?

yes, you can use hammer's export to .dxf function. DXFs can be opened in most modeling softwares.

Relies on flags, and that would let people pick them up.

You can do it with grey outlines, but won't work with red/blue.

Didn't Mangy figure out how to do this by parenting objects to an objective? Although that sounds a little too simple.

You can. You parent the object to a tracktrain (which you can then parent to another object if needed), and set that in the tracktrain part of a team_train_watcher. I THINK the team part of that controls the colour. However, you need a train and tracktrain for every prop you want to glow, as only one prop glows for each train.
