I've hacked together a copy of HLLib.dll which ignores the fact that the file is over 4GB (it stores the file size in a 32-bit unsigned int). Sadly it doesn't work with GCFScape (or at least not for me), but works perfectly fine with HLExtract which I have bundled along with it.

One thing I do know for sure though, is that Valve have not changed the format, purposely or unintentionally.

Thanks for the update, I'll take a look because it affects PackBSP.

Could you send over your patch to Nem so we can get an updated official copy?

That's strange because I can open it just fine.

Maybe it's too big to handle for your computers... :p

Nevermind what I said -- Opening works, but extracting something does NOT. I'm gonna assume that is the case for most or all of you others too.

Yeah I figured, as I said. :p I misread the thread somehow.

But I'm glad Nem is working on it.

No point really, it's just a dirty hack (commented out the error in the stream code and changed some integer types to 64-bit)
