I was going to make an attack/defense map that would have a reverse gravel-pit style layout for the first stage where only one of the last control points would be needed to progress onto the next stage and was having trouble coming up with ways to balance the idea so the defenders don't lose every time. Could you guys comment on suggestions on how to balance it? Thank you so much!

Full stops, please! I reckon your best bet would be to put Red spawn between the two points and have a relatively long cap time with the distance between the two points being relatively short. That way Red players can move from a defense of A to a defense of B through their own spawn very quickly. Note that Gravelpit has 20 second cap times for it's A and B and the round doesn't even depend on it!
