    FreeFrag.com Map Montage Customs Server

    Hey all. So I've been made the new Map Montage server manager and I wanted to post on here to tell you guys about my server.

    IP is 99.198.108.174:27015 if you wanna join and play with us a few rounds. We don't bite ;P

    Map Montage is a 24/7 Custom Map server with RTV, Nominate, 24 players, no crits, no spread, and fast respawn times.

    If you have a map that follows the following requirements, I'll consider adding your map onto the list
    -Beta/RC
    -Textured (fully textured is preferred, though I will allow maps that don't have a single stage fully textured such as a 3 stage map with stage 3 being textureless)

    Yay Rawrspoon. Somebody useful for heading Montage.


    I'm going to suggest Biodome once Super gets it to b1, which should be soon.
    I'm going to suggest Runoff once Nine gets it to b1, which will hopefully be soon.
    I'm going to suggest Strange once Rexy gets it to b1, which will hopefully be soon.

    Map Montage seems to be a server that might not hate Borax. http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5906

    Look into any map that came out of the CTF Contest, and the one before that, the CTF/PLR Contest. Off the Top-of-my-Head suggestions: Wiretap, Converge, Vector, Snowdrift, Slate.

    And what about Mountainlab?

    Also, remove Stalingrad.
    And Canalzone. And Aqua. And No Mercy. And Pipeball. And Redship.

    No crits, no spread is fine for map testing but fast respawn times kills balance. I am not saying you should remove it but if the map maker is on the server and an admin is also on can you turn it off for that one test?

    Borax is a horrible map gameplay wise :/

    If i'm allowed to pimp my own map i'd request that you take a look at cp_axle(_b1b): http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8227

    It's just entered beta, fully out of DEV and is already on a number of server rotations. Also, the map was balanced for faster than usual spawn times so hopefully it wont play as horribly as other maps.

    Fast respawn doesn't mean instant respawn. We just change respawn numbers according to how the map is played (on many maps we have different respawn times for red and blu). Sometimes the respawn time is too slow and sometimes it's too fast. Some maps have 10 second respawns while others have 13-14. It all depends on what we've observed.

    But if the mapmaker contacts me, I can set up default spawn times for a test. We're very generous to mapmakers and supported silo-c greatly (until the previous server manager got too busy). Just contact me on Steam if you're interested.

    And littleedge, we've had the ctf/plr contest maps before (when most weren't fully textured, to boot) but we've only kept the ones that are on there because of user complaints. As for the suggestions, I'll just test the batch of five new maps I put in and then maybe I'll try out the new ones (uploading maps is tedious X_X).

    As for the remove suggestions:
    Stalingrad- on iffy ground, perhaps I'll take it out on the next batch
    Canalzone- it's a regular favorite. It's not going anywhere anytime soon
    Aqua- also a regular favorite
    No Mercy- It's been on and off the rotation for so long I don't even know what to do with it. As soon as we take it off people want it back up and as soon as we put it back up people complain about it.
    Pipeball- Every server needs derp every once in a while :p Besides, it's only two rounds or 15 minutes.
    Redship- Is awesome.

    Grazr- I'll be glad to add it to the rotation for some testing on how the server reacts to it.

    Biodome and Runoff and Strange are awesome maps and you have to add them once they get updated. Conveniently, the threads have all been bumped so their creators should finish up soon.

    Cool, the map is currently running on approximately 12 server rotations including TF2maps (though TF2maps doesn't really have a "rotation"). It'll be nice to see it spread further. Always nice to see your work appreciated :D

    Good news everyone! Server updated!

    Changes:

    Maps added:
    cp_axle_b1b
    plr_lumberyard_b1
    cp_collis_b1
    pl_boundary_b4

    Maps removed:
    pl_redship_rc2

    I only removed redship because FreeFrag's Payload server just got it. So, due to many requests, redship is off for now. If our Payload server decides to not keep redship, it goes back up on Montage.

    All new maps have everything default until balancing issues arise.
