    FPSB's TF2 Rats Style Mapping Contest!

    I know this forum is for tf2maps contest only but move this thread if its absolutely not ok to have this thread here.
    FPSBanana is having a major TF2 mapping contest. The prizes are the following;

    The prize for first place in this contest is $75 cash, 10,000 points (fpsb only), an FPSB merchandise pack, and a front page feature of your map.
    Second place will receive $15 cash and 5000 points (fpsb only).
    Third place will receive $10 cash and 3000 points (fpsb only).

    Important contest information:

    The contest will be open until midnight (EST) on May 15, 2009. When the contest submission period has expired, the finalists will be chosen from all of the entries by a public vote. Once the finalists have been determined, the top five will be judged on craftsmanship, detail, technical ability, and creativity by our five judges. The judges names will be announced at a later date.

    Head over there for more information (They have cool rat animations D:)

    .........

    Maybe if they made a contest for real TF2 maps, I would submit something. Rats maps are just stupid. We don't need more of them.

    There is already a TF2 mapping contest there, the realistic mapping contest (also adapted to TF2), which I've joined.

    They should have waited the other contest to be finished (in 1 and a half months)

    Yeah, I think that they probably thought because they are such a big community they can do two at once, I disagree.

    i'm not really leaning towards rat maps personally.
    i'm not gonna dismiss them outright - i mean it's another style afterall, it's just not something i personally want to make a map for

    They're fun for HL deathmatch...but with slower walking speeds and such it's really hard to balance teams vs. sniper on that kind of scale.

    What's your guys' problem? Just because most rats maps made for TF2 already are generally pretty bad, it's only the STYLE OF THE MAP - players the size of toys/ants/...rats! You could make a perfectly enjoyable and nice map with this as style.

    There was only one rat map I played that was actually fun, but it so didn't fit the real TF2 Style. Bedroom, was it?
