Forward Spawn doors?

    Hi i am making a 5cp map and i would like to know how to enable and disable the doors. thanks!

    You don't need to enable and disable forward spawn doors, if they are one-way. All you need to do is make sure the trigger that opens the doors is only on the inside of the room, so that people who spawn in it can open the door but people outside cannot,because they can't touch the trigger.

    If you still need to enable and disable doors from being opened, you can give your trigger brushes names and send outputs to them to Enable and Disable.

    Just a rule of a thumb on 5cp or greater maps, the further you push, the more you must scavenge (realistically) for health and ammo without an engineer, in the game is balanced both ways, and also do not forget that any other spawn outside the base should not have a resupply locker, unless you intend to allow players back into the room; this also guides your level design, however a counter example is for 5cp_well in which the spawns inside the team buildings regardless have lockers, which are weird in a forward push way as the second push has no way back in.

    It's up to the map author if they want to:
    • Put resupply lockers in their forward spawn rooms, and
    • Let players in to them from the outside.
    What's most important is play testing. Don't try to impose rules on people because that could prevent them from making something new and interesting.

    Resupply lockers in forward spawn rooms are useful for changing one's weapon loadout. If the door is one-way, then a player can keep the door open for a friendly engineer to build a teleporter.
