Force Player Class

Hello! So I've been lost on ideas lately, so I wanted to try upgrading the Escort missions from Team Fortress Classic, to TF2. The main problem I am having, is trying to find a way to force a class onto a player, and strip them to melee. If anyone has any advice (or even some packs I could download to make life easier), it'd be of great help
