First Map Problems

    HI

    I have recently created my first map, everything seemed to be going well until i loaded the map onto my server and realized that all the hats on the players in the server wouldn't appear.

    I have prop_dynamic hat models around the map and when i removed them from the map all the players could see their hats once again.

    Am i doing something wrong when i'm adding the hat models?

    Any help would be great.

    That sounds like it's a good idea. Quick, everyone put hat models in their maps!

    I can't honestly think why they would be stopping hat models from appearing on people's heads, but to be honest, I can't think of it being a truly bad thing. it'd help optimize your map! :p

    That's a bit odd. Does it happen with prop_static?

    Wouldn't make a difference, hat models can't be static.

    Thanks for the replies and as Aly said i cant set my hat model static, has anyone else come accross these problems?

    You put hats into the map, and then no one else can see the hats?

    Either there was a very coincidental steam SNAFU that happened whilst you were testing your map... or...

    You hit the prop_dynamic limit? Which I don't think would still be possible and not have the server crash... but that might be it. But you would've had to put a LOT of hats into the map.

    I wish the game handled dynamic entity limit breaks by removing hats instead of crashing.

    Its not a prop_dynamic limit issue, i have even made a very basic map and put 1 hat in the map, when i spawn my player with the same hat, the hat is invisible on my players head but i can see the hat in the map.
