Hammer this in 30 minutes
(before anyone asks I did this)
It is possible to do in 30 minutes... (if you have these props)
But you did this with a new editor that you used for the first time in 30 minutes?!?!
but what's that blue thing behind the well? (if it is a well..)
Yeah, I saw the video for FC2's new map editor. This thing is amazing! I just wonder how it does with custom content?
IT DOESNT :O
Help me bash the ubi forums.
Blue thingy is to show that it's a usable prop. (mounted machine gun)
I got FC2 the other day, and I've tried the editor. It's not bad, but I just...can't use it. It's just too simple. XP
You can map AND have a life with this!
Done in an hour.
iirc ubisoft has killed all modding possibility for FC2 besides making maps.
and... the multiplayer sucks. So go figure.
To be fair sniper, the discussion was over when you said it can't do CC...
its like garys mod and the forge, kinda fun but completely useless in reality.
And have a life you say? You have sparked my intrest. Elaborate.
It's no different from the ground control editor. Which is about 8 years old.
Yes it looks pretty with today's technology/graphics but i fail to see how it's something really that new.
I would be amused with this for a small while, just like i was with GC2, making realistic environments. But check out all the other FC2 maps; it's as bad as the TF2 orange maps. It's just a bunch of huge props slammed into a square of terrain, repeated over and over.
The only thing i would like to see is how quicker it is at making environments than GC2 was. Because that took fookin ages. But then the maps were about 10 times the size.
I guess i'd like to get my mits on it, but i'll always prefer the freedom to make really unique maps as i do with Hammer.
Did I hear someone say the editor is for multiplayer only? No single player possibilities?
If that's the case...man, what a missed opportunity. We could get some good single player mods pretty quickly. Sure there would be a lot of crappy ones (same as multiplayer), but there would no doubt be some gems in there.
Indeed, no SDK in sight, means no custom stuff so far. Only multiplayer maps is stupid too but hey, it's about the fun you have making a good looking environment.
I miss waterfalls though, they have them in SP but not in the editor.
yea, ubisoft has no real intention of supporting a mod community with FC2. The map editor was just throwing a bone to the creative people to make multiplayer maps. Also I think with such a map editor its far more difficult to distinguish something of any worth.
Yep, it's fun sandbox. Nothing more. But damn good looking. :|
