    I've picked up this old map again and changed the second half of the layout quite a bit as well as the theme to make it work for the medieval project.

    Let's see what the gameplay is like...

    This is the map I had initially begun for the Payload Contest over a year ago. The layout seems to be quite well balanced so I decided to start detailing and finish it over the next months.

    So here's the first beta release of the map.

    I'm glad to see this progressing beyond a2fixed without any layout/timer changes. It's very well-balanced as is and has had a place in 2f2f's regular rotation for months.

    Looks very good although i'd advise maybe a tad more cover in places like screeny 1 and 3.

    Looks nice, layout looks solid and fun, detailing is nice without being overpowering and it's payload. What more could you ask for? :D

    Also, I think it would be super awesome if you wanted to challenge yourself with your own custom bomb explosion for the final cap. Possible make the two pillars ontop of the cap hole area collapse into the hole and pull that whole crane structure with it, it would look badass and you could have the crane hit the train from above which causes it to explode.

    Awesome but hard work.

    * Updated to Alpha 4 with more details, directions signs and custom soundscapes.

    Please let me know your opinions on the locations of directions signs and on the soudscapes (any sounds too loud or too quiet?).

    * Updated to Beta 1 with more details, a few custom models by Acumen, custom water and cubemaps. Also changed the sky and lighting to cp_well's settings.

    Looks really good detailed, only most of the walls are a bit empty. And in picture 2 you can see underneath the displacement.

    Agreed, detailing is not finished yet. I'll be adding more beams and especially overlays in the next phase.

    That's because the screenshot is taken from outside the playable area ...it won't be actually seen while playing.

    Oh man, I'm surprised I've never seen this before, it looks interesting.

    I always wondered why the dam from Hydro never got much usage

    Yes and since you guys tested it, it gives the map some reputation. I added this to my payload server and I think people liked it :)

    This map is incredible. It's going to replace Badwater on my payload server. This is my first message here because this is the first time I've felt strongly compelled to post. I want to urge you to continue your work on this map. Please continue to develop this because you have a true gem on your hands. I will run it as long as you continue to update because I believe it is the perfect companion to Goldrush. A little blank as it is in some areas, but it's early. I'll check back often :)
