It was brought to my attention today when I donated and was setting all the new and nifty things up that I was only allowed to have 1 image in my signature. So I had to debate weather or not to promote my WiP map or have an image link to one of my threads. The current image you can have can be up to 700 wide and 100 in height, that's very nice and compact. I was hoping maybe there was a possibility though that there could be maybe an option for 2 more images? both can only be 20 pixels in height at max and 700 in width if need be. just in case you want to get creative like me and express your thread better with some good ol' TF2 word looking image links like DJive has in his for the mapping resource thread. If this could be a possibility that would be awesome. It's not gonna add to much to the sig either as at the max it would only be 40 more pixels(minus the spacing between them)higher.

The width limit is actually 500.

Because nobody ever updated the code limitations when they set the limit in the forum rules that show up at the top of every board.

To be fair, no one checks said forum rules after the first time (for me that was waaaay back in 07), let alone check if its updated.

To be quite honest I don't think the height limit is the issue here... it's mostly things that are too wide and break the page. I'd like to use 200px vertically of possible.

Never! there is nothing I hate more than sigs that are multitudes higher than the post's content.

Let's not and say we did.

Forum "signatures" are clutter. We all know who posted what, your name is right next to the post, so signatures are useless. In this specific forum, they can be useful as a method of self-promotion or assistance, but let's keep it at that. If you REALLY wanna show off your photoshop SKEELZ! or whatnot, I'm sure you can do so in the off topic section.

The 500px rule is the rule. There was a bit of change that caused it to be 700px, however as of 40 minutes ago it IS at 500px limit now.

as to the "Why can ti have 2 images"

Simple.. VBulletin is stupid... Well i cant say that, i LOVE their software however when it comes to signatures it fails.

Pretty much you can set up the "allowed images" and "image size"

However the catch is that ALL smilies count as an image.. *stupid i know*

and the image size is on a PER image basis.

IE if if i set it to two.. users could make 2x 500x100 banners in their signature.

Other software *IPB namely* had a nice feature which was in pixels.. how much TOTAL space to give a user for a signature. That was nice because you could have as many images as you wanted so long as you stayed say, within that 100px.

Its something i've been on the hunt for.. for a long time guys and im sorry that its something just not present in VB.
