Displacement Shadows

There is nothing that can cast a shadow on the displacement (except the tree stump) but still has shadows on the edges :/

I have searched the forums, but other ppl fix it by changing light angles, or moving the displacement, but that doesn't work for me.

After resetting the shape to 0 (brush shape) it still has the same shadows :/

It would help to see the wireframe. My guess is that the edge tris intersect the other displacments. So the edge verts get shadowed and that fades into the next set of verts which is lit.

Try pulling it up above the ground and relighting. If that fixes it the best thing is to probably sew all the edges. You'll probably have to cut the displacements around it.

all displacements in the map connect to each other, so no intersects :\ and every thing is sewn correctly (i've checked that 100 times :( )

Thank for the suggestion, though :)

Update:

I found the problem, but not a way to fix it :/

For some reason both dispacements share the same decals and lightning/shadows,
The lightning comes from the top, and the bullets came from the bottom/side:

They are both different brushes

Any ideas?

Sometimes Source does things and you can't do anything about it. Especially with displacements.

But usually those are fixed after retrying or moving the light or the displacement :/

But I will retry this when it's going beta I think :\
