Disabling downloaded textures in hammer?

Basicly, hammer's texture browser shows textures from TF2's downloads folder, which is anyoning me as ends up showing server spefic materials and gets in the way of me looking for textures that won't show up as black and purple chessboards. Any way to stop them from showing up? I kinda don't want do delete my downloads folder in fear that I'll spend ages downloading things again when I join another server.

You can use the materials exclusion list in Hammer's options. You have to add an entry in the list for each directory inside download/materials. Sometimes it can prevent your ordinary materials from showing up in the materials browser, so watch out. I think you should just ignore them.

Alternatively, rename your download directory before you launch Hammer. Then when you want to play on a server, change the name back.
