    Yukon - Dry wasteland

    King of the hill Yukon is a map set in a texas theme area, with 2 spawn rooms and 2 sniper perches at each end with a control point in the middle
    Screenshots:

    Bugs:
    No heath packs except for resupply locker
    2nd doors open at different speeds
    rocks around the area are not fully complete
    Fullbright

    Otherwise, this is my first map and I've been playing with bots on it, and it's quite fun :D

    there is cp_yukon but i don't think it will get confused from KOTH_yukon and the other one

    maybe people think it's the same yukon but then in a koth remake or something like that.

    I'd recommend sorting these issues out before testing this map with real players - particularly the lack of lighting, cos fullbright maps can screw with players' perspectives, and a lack of health and ammo packs will frustrate players since they'll be constantly running out of ammo. (Engineers & Spies will be especially hindered)

    Also, as said above, there's already a map in TF2 called cp_yukon

    why is it called Yukon if its in Texas
    the Yukon is in Canada
    I dont think you know your geography my friend

    Just from the screenshot's i can tell that there are some brutal sniper sightlines. Belive me, coming from a new mapper myself. Sniper's are a pain to balance

    • badlands is set in the badlands
    • coldfront is set in the cold
    • foundry is set in a foundry
    • powerhouse is set in a power station
    • dustbowl is set in the dustbowl
    • gravelpit is set in a gravel mine
    • mountainlab is set in the mountains
    • lumberyard is set in a lumberyard
    • egypt is set in egypt

    you can't just call a map yukon and casually set it in Texas, who does that...

    not to mention there's already a map called Yukon (set in the Yukon) in the game

    Box layouts always end with big sightlines and unbeliable openness and flatness due to the lack of flexibility by the box. This also affects optimization as everything has to be rendered. In short, don't do this. You'll always be better off designing a layout without one.
