Bethesda released a "launch video" for the new Creation Kit and Skyrim Steam workshop.

I don't know about you guys, but I'll be playing with this, and trying to get those things that I would like to see in skyrim actually in there. Hopefully, this will be a good way for me to get motivation to learn 3D modeling.

First thing I'll want to mod in is a better "Destroy the dark brotherhood" quest line. What about everyone else? ANyone else interested in trying this?

    Yay.

Now I can spend more precious time making random, useless stuff.

Definitely checking this out, have been waiting since release. Only buying the game if the modding tools are at least as good as Oblivion's, but if they are I'll be all over it.

Looks pretty good but Steam Workshop is not a new feature at all - even Oblivion had the The Elder Scrolls Nexus years ago that did the exact same thing, even with a program that downloads and sorts mods. Kind of weird advertising at the end there for it but other than that it looks good.

Maybe someone can make some dungeons that aren't a series of long corridors followed by a boss room. Sure, there were more unique dungeons in Skyrim, but they were all just as boring as the other still.

First thing first, I'm going to make a house in Blackreach :D

I was thinking about doing a hard-to-find boss rush tower, with a massive fight at the very top of it. It'd be pretty interesting.

I agree with this so hard. There was so much missed potential for puzzles and the like... but probably because of the constraints they had because of also releasing it on outdated consoles.

Absolutely. It was just the same routine of entering a room, then being ambushed by drougr's from the walls. I swear the devs must have only spec'd melee when they tested this game because for archer or mage classes that makes for boring gameplay.

They needed some dungeons where you could get into the rafters and let off a couple arrows from above instead of being forced to shoot into a room from its only entrance.

There were a few unique side missions involving bandits which had open spaces and the quest to get the dragon slab for the mage of Whiterun had a nice boss area (even though it wasn't even utilised to its full potential), but there should have been more spacial variety.

You only just realized Hammer is kinda outdated? Haha, just read about the UDK for half an hour and you'll get a heart attack or something

The term "Beating a semi-dead horse" comes to mind.

I find it both hilarious and sad that you can use Steam Workshop to share custom maps for Skyrim but not for TF2.

More like the Source engine needs to step its game up. There's a reason nobody but Valve uses it; it can't do real-time lighting (which every other engine on earth has been using since forever ago), it can't create sprawling landscapes; it can't pre-cache map data... it's a wonder Valve hasn't thrown in the towel and switched to licensing Unreal or something by now.
