    But you know, it doesn't look as terrible as I would think the average TF2-iceworld would be. You know, except for the absolute lack of ice. Just be aware that you'll catch a LOT of flak here for trying to do this map.

    HL2 textures got to go. There are definitely equivalent TF2 textures for what you're trying to do. The underground is also far too dark.

    I never played CS enough to know that this was a real map.

    Hmm well it doesn't look as crap as what it could be. Why call it iceworld, where is the ice?
    Rename it and reduce the height of thoes centre structures and you might be onto something.

    lol - Im just kidding!

    these small ones are good... sometimes... when your server is filling up... or a fun night...

    When you're browsing for textures filter for "tf" Dont use the HL2 stuff, it looks like crap-o-la...

    Throw in some more props and add ice/snow or change the name :D

    He is big on large, detailed maps, like the originals. (IIRC... if im wrong please dont kill me :) )
    Some members of the community are worried that some maps will leave a bad taste in peoples mouths about custom mappers, but the jury is still out on what a "bad" map is...

    Some think having darkness or HL2 textures in a tf2 map makes it "bad" because it betrays the TF2 feel. at the same time those aspects can make a map more realistic.

    Some Dislike small maps as when you get 20 people on a small map it devolves into a no strategy fragfest.
    small maps are also disliked because sometimes they neglect certain classes, or make other more powerful than they would be on a large map with both close in and spaced out areas.

    That's fair enough.

    This map pooped into my lap, and I ran with it to make it look real nice. I can see what you mean though.

    I do have another map that should be lighter and bigger and thus a little more fun sometime in the future.

    Which textures are HL2?

    Basically, when you browse for textures type 'tf' into the filter box. Don't use any textures that don't have this tag (i.e. cs, hl, etc.)

    tf2 != realism. you should not aim to be realistic
