    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqx8-3AcL4Y&feature=channel"]YouTube - TigerTV Host: Logan Vs. Kyra[/ame]

I just finished watching this (linked after watching the falcon controller demo vid) and found a couple things quite amusing. First of all, all of Logan's sly gripes at anything that you have to pay subscriptions for. Mostly because several of my friends are tight asses and constantly moan about being skint. Yet they pay monthly subscriptions to WoW. It's pretty much the first thing that comes up in any arguement between my friends and I when we compare gaming habits and how they intrude on our lives, "Yea, i paid like £6 for TF2, that's it, gets updated for free, will always be free to play, you suck".

Secondly, the heat he mentions at the end of the video. My room gets pretty damn hot. My case has 3 fans, my motherboard has a heat sync with an intenral fan that circulates air in a specific direction within my case, and i could attatch a liquid coolent system if i could be arsed. I have my radiator turned off because there's no need for it. My rooms pretty small.. but yea. My computer just heats my room up so much :p

But it's a pretty heated debate between PC and console users as to which is better, with so many variables.

Then there's the side debate over games that require subscriptions. I'll never play a game that requires a subscription. If it comes to that i'm just hitting the local. I played WoW for 3 months because a mate gave me a trial to level 20 and said i wont experience the game until i reach a higher level. I got to level 49 on a 3 month sub and decided it wasn't worth continuing. The gameplay was monotonous (grind this grind that, fly here, run there), the graphics look pre-sims so it's not even like i can look at the game because it sucks pretty bad. It's just a glorified RPG and why anyone would pay for it monthly is beyond me.

Sure it gets updated content on a questionable frequency, but so do Valve games, and you don't have to pay.

Well i'll stop there before i break into a rant. I just thought i would share a video that i connected to as a gamer.

it's pretty obvious PCs are superior

I played halo 3 on xbox live once and it has the most dull gameplay ever. A DM with 20 weapons, but only 3 of them are used

I'm sticking with PC except for a few console exclusive games (ModNation Racers for PS3, and I'm praying that Assassin's Creed II comes out on Steam at release). I love VALVe for their free update philosophy, it makes sense and works, and I see can TF2 having a very, very long lifespan so long as they keep handing out content for free.

Besides, Steam has spoiled me with $20, $10, and $5 games, and every time I see a console game with that $60 price tag I cringe.

The only reason why i baught my PS2 was for GTA 3, and later SSX Tricky. My only motivation to get the next generation console (PS3) was for GTA4.

Some good games have come out on console such as Dead Space and Resistance 2 that i do regret not being able to play. But i'm not sold that the price i will pay for the PS3 and the few games i desire to play on it will be worth it.

You have to pay subscription to play Xbox live and i'm not sure about Microsoft Live. You need it to play some recent games such as Dawn of War 2 and Universe at War on PC. But i'm not paying anything to run Microsoft Live from my PC, but it's pretty much the same thing as Xbox live, right? As for Sony's PS3 online (what ever they call it) you do have to pay for that also, like Xbox live; and this is ontop of your standard internet bill.

So basically you're paying more $money$ ontop of that $60 Nineaxis would have paid for a standard console game. Which includes fixing glitches ontop of any additional content. This was the same arguement put forward about the L4D boycott however. Paying more money for content that should have included from the start, and fixes that should have been ironed out before public release.

This generation of console's is the first time i have refused to play and buy things i do really desire. So it's just a shame what they are doing to the industry. Sapping money out of their potential consumers.

    Developers zapping mah wallet.

What are you talking about? Sonys Playstation Network (PSN) is free to anyone, xbox live has a subscription. If anything I would way the Sony's PSN is more like steam in the sense that its free membership and you just pay for the games/dlc you want.

Well i wouldn't know about that. My best mate has a PS3 and uses it all the time, When he's not playing WoW he's playing PS3 online multiplayer games. I asked if he had to pay to play it online and he said he did.

If you don't then you don't and my friend is a liar.

Since I graduated from a PC whose upper limit games-wise was UT2004, I only use my consoles for exclusives. It's a shame that all my friends play consoles, or I might give up my £40 a year Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.

4 of my close friends have xbox 360's, so I just play the most popular console games when I'm hanging out with them. :p I'd like to have a 360 or PS3 for the exclusive titles, but it doesn't bother me that much.

To what supertoaster said, that happens after a while with any deathmatch game. Look at Counter-Strike, where the main weapons are the AWP, the AK-47, and maybe one or two more.

This is pretty much my take on console gaming at the moment. Let my more financially irresponsible friends spend the dolla on console jazz and then exploit their property.

Any exclusives they will more than likely buy i will get to play at some point (when he gets bored and goes back onto WoW). Pretty much how i did end up playing Resistance 2, Dead Space, GTA4, Assasins creed and other generic chart games in the end.

Well, i say play Dead Space; more like watch him play it whilst gawking from a far corner with skidmarks making my riding boxers that tad more uncomfortable than they already were.
