I have been wanting to map for tf2 for a very long time but every time I start it just feels like I'm doing something wrong. It's never the same thing, sometimes it's because of the layout, sometimes it's the visuals, so on, so forth. I know my way around hammer so that's not the issue, I think it's in my head.
This is probably the third or fourth time I have tried to map for tf2 specifically (I have tried and failed to use hammer countless times) and once again I hit a brick wall, I am not confident in my ability to design the maps layout and don't know where to go from here
I was wondering if this is normal for a newer mapper with nothing under his belt, or maybe if anyone has had similar experiences to this and found some way to get over it. I really do want to make content for tf2 but, I keep getting this dread like feeling that I'm doing everything wrong and I shouldn't continue. Not only does this make it hard to focus on the task at hand, but it also make the experience unenjoyable...
