    Hi, my fellow map makers.

    I'm pretty new to this forum, (In fact, I have never really used it before) so I honestly hope that I am doing everything right.

    My map is called cp_collis, which is Latin for mountain, what this map is all about. It's a mountain themed map, using textures seen already in lumberyard for example.

    THE STORY:

    RED and BLU found out that there is something special in the water of the mountains and therefore they came along and started to tap the natural water sources, in order to be able to do some experiments in their hidden bases.

    THE IDEA:

    competitive 5 point cp_map with a linear lay out inspired by granary.
    I paid much attention to height difference, what can be found on each of the points. Besides being inspired by granary, I tried to create a new gaming experience on every control point. And according to the feedback, people DO feel that already.

    anyway guys, i hope you want to give me some of your thoughts to this map.

    P.S.: I'm always open for constructive criticism. You may even call my map shit, as long as you say WHAT EXACTLY makes it bad.
    P.S.S.: unfortunatelly, the map contains a bad looking waterfall.. if anyone of you guys can redirect me to someone who is able to cut the unnecessary piece off, I'd highly appreciate it.

    overhead view would be appreciated for this type of map!
    also you don't need to put the version in the title, just the name of the map.

    Anyways, it looks pretty good, but you seem to have a pretty open area there in screen 1.

    By the way, what's the green thing coming out of the waterfall?

    ill do an overhead view asap, thx for reminding, but i remember some mate telling me that there was some way to do it easily and get the best out of it. but i dont know how to do that yet :/

    the green thing at the waterfall is a spot light; and there is a small gate behind the water fall:

    there are 2 lights actually. a red and a green one. the green one is active on map spawn, the red one turns on when the gate is opened. and thos 2 lights are never active at the same time. (so if somone triggers the gate a lot, you are atm getting a disco feeling.)

    edit: my biggest area is the one on screens 3 and 4. screens 1 and 2 are by far not that wide

    i reworked many parts of the map in this version... see changelog :)

    ill add stuff like a 3d skybox when the map is in beta. :)

    I updated the thread with the latest changelog and download link. besides that, i posted a connect command to a server, that is always running the latest version of the map within one day of release. The server has got fast download enabled.

    I'll update the screen shots tommorow.

    Added my first shoutouts as well.

    Has anyone actually run over the map yet? I would really like to have some thoughts and criticism of more experienced mappers than me to make the best out of it.:rolleyes:

    I didn't play the map, yet, but I can't stop looking on the fences you scattered across the map (Like in pics 1, and 2)...
    I'm sure walking through that area will confuse many players as well that I don't think it's very pretty.
    Keep that in mind

    Beta1 is out.

    Updated everything relevant like screenshots or the download link.

    I'm not very sure about which fences you are talking, but maybe they are already gone or fixed on the updated screenshots. (hope so :p )

    We pugged version b2 tonight; I'm honestly not even sure where I got that version because I got it a long time ago and every link I've found that you've put up for this map has been for b1, but, hopefully it was the most current version. We enjoyed it, but it seemed difficult to defend second and to push out of last.

    Overall great looking map, I'd love to try it out. The one issue I noticed in some gameplay footage was the imbalance at the final point. It seems that, although there's a direct link to the point from the defending team's spawn, it's really quite easy to cap the last point. Maybe it's just me, and I'm not sure how you would improve that, but that's my input.

    We play this map on voogru; it is quite popular. There seems to be a bug in which no team wins when the timer runs down. It has also been suggested that the time added when a cp gets capped be reduced some. Thanks for a very nice map :). Oh and I just realized this thread is quite old O.O

    It is 5cp, no team is supposed to win when the timer goes out.
