Clinic - alpha1

    Hello everyone! This is my first map, inspired by Mic's "Heavy weapons guy strapped to a stretcher"

    It takes place in a battle-torn city-base of R.E.D. where a group of BLUs must seize a nearby medical clinic in order to save the life of a most excellent Heavy (a VIH, if you will.)

    the BLUs must weave the stretcher around crashed vehicles (that provide cover) through the streets, but they must watch out for REDs attacking from the surrounding buildings and rooftops.

    ver. a1: a working version of the map, the cars and mailboxes are represented by placeholder brushes, as I don't [have maya] / [trust my own modeling and textureing skills]. also, the map could use some more textures for the buildings. I am not sure how well this will hold-up on a populated server.


    Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

    Looks cool :) Main problem I see is that its very open throughout the entire route, leaving many classes weak, and others overpowered.

    Perhaps some parts of the "track" could be through some buildings, which would provide some close-quarters areas for cover and to allow other classes to work?

    I love the stretcher model and the idea of the map. Buildings could use some more work to ensure they aren't useless for cover or close quarters fighting.

    Looks fun, keep it up! :D

    Sorry for the Necro-bump; but I have recently been very busy. so I was wondering if someone could help out, or preferably just take over this map; I have been working on other things (among them learning to make flash-based Facebook games/apps and learning UnrealScript) and I really cant see myself working on this anymore.

    I can list off a few things I wanted to do in this map:

    - alter the path to go in and out of buildings (preferably between point 1 and 2, and the area around point 3 )
    -make the path more hilly (think San-Fran (the stretcher could also be on a trolley-cart track))(also possibly add some rollback zones)
    - convert into a 1-stage payload-race?(makes more sense if both teams are trying to save their own heavy - make hospital have a neutral-feel)
    -when the "payload" is delivered, a heavy-bot emerges form the hospital to help clean-up the enemies. the hospital could also explode possibly.


    that would mostly be a start. but I think the entire map may need to be re-thought out; the path to the first point is almost a straight path, and a single wrangled sentry on the back-building could potentially lock-down the main path.

    last I remembered the map was almost completely functional (though I recall problems with the blu forward spawn) so If any of you wanna see what was done so far you can go right on ahead and try it. thanks!
    EDIT: WHOOPS I forgot I took the download down. I will put it back up if anyone is interested.
    EDIT2: I re-compiled the map and posted a .zip file on my personal website for download!
