CD Key Authentication Failed

I was trying to test an alpha build of my map and the efficient way to do so is to start TF2 through Hammer's Run Map option. My Additional Game Parameters are

-novid -windowed -noborder -console

only. Everytime I do so it loads the game normally but fails when it loads the map. I tried loading the map through console with same results showing "CD Key Authentication Failed". Any solution?

you need to have opened steam before running your map. this has happened to me before
make sure you have opened steam and signed into your account before running your map and all will work fine
