cant run hammer, missing .dll files

    Hello, I just got started with mapmaking, but I cant even run hammer because vstdlib.dll and tier0.dll are missing from my computer. Help?

    Are you by any chance using the source sdk version of hammer? These days, you want to use the hammer.exe found in the common/team fortress 2/bin folder

    Verifying the integrity of game cache should ensure no files are missing/corrputed.

    Right click TF2 in Steam, select Properties. Then find Local Files and press Verify integrity of game files...
