Can't get most recent save to compile right.

    Working on a new map. I compile the map and run it every five minutes or so just to make sure everything's going alright.

    Recently I added a few brushes, objects and overlays, saved, and ran the map. Much to my surprise, however, Hammer did not compile any of it and instead I was playing in an earlier save. Therefore, none of the aforementioned things I added were there.

    I'm not an expert at anything to do with mapping, so I have no idea what's going on. If anyone can help, thanks.

    Don't listen to Nerd! he is EVIL!
    ....Just check for problems Via the compile log etc....

    VBSP is crashing blah blah look for errors in your compile log don't listen to Godslayer

    You more than likely have an invalid solid. Go to find Problems (alt+p) and delete it.

    Found it. Was using a non-HDR-compatible skybox texture.

    For future reference, any way to tell what is and isn't compatible with HDR?

    Thats not the problem, that "could not load skybox to build default cubemap blah blah" is not an error.

    As a fix, i find that renaming the map helps. But the interlopers compile checker is your friend here.

    And don't waste time compiling with HDR until you are almost done with your map and are tweaking lighting to perfection.

    (you can build a koth map in the time it takes to hdr light one once)
