    This is my first map so it probably is not that great. I'm mostly learning as I go, so if you have any suggestions, please include a detailed description of how it is done.

    First thing i learned, was not to make open maps. For some reason people hate to be sniped from kilometer away. Strange. Add more cover for starters.

    Looks very basic and open, try adding more brushes for buildings/ ledges etc.

    do all that stuff and change the skybox to something more tf2-y

    also glad to see its not fullbright

    Skybox is the default which is hl2 so...

    I would add a lot more complexity. Don't map as you go. Get an inspiration, get it on paper, perfect it, then make it, changing the map when necessary.

    no its not, valve updated source sdk, the default skybox is from 2fort now

    I just checked, and the default is from HL2.

    No, it's boojum's fdg that automatically make it the 2fort one, not valve updating theirs.
