    ... on a game I made :D

It's not the most complex thing I've ever seen but it sure is addictive, if I do say so myself.

The aim is to dodge the red blocks (by using left+right arrow keys), by doing that you score points and increase your multiplier for every block which passes, which mean points are scored as: +1, +2, +3 etc. If you hit x100 you get an extra life (and then on for every x100), and if you get hit by a red block, your multiplier is reset again, and you lose a life. All lives gone, and your game is over.

There are also 4 special blocks you can hit
    - Green: 20s of slow motion (but there are more blocks to dodge!)
    - Blue: 30s of speed boost
    - Orange: +50 multiplier
    - White: 20s of collect mode (collect as many white blocks as you can!)

The red blocks get faster and wider as time goes on, and the entire game is completely random.

To install it just extract the 2 files to their own folder (preferably). The records.dat file stores all the records you've achieved, and contains my personal top 10 scores - try beating them (and post a screenshot too! :))

    Have fun :O

You can edit all names in the highscore D:

Funny game, but i dislike those really big blocks, nearly impossible to dodge with the slow yellow thing.

nah, you as the programmed should have made it more difficult to edit the highscore manually that by beating them ingame.

by the way what did you use to program it? java? I would have no trouble helping you make a program with an encrypted high score list.

It's not really a big deal, and I programmed it [shockhorror] in Visual Basic [/shockhorror]. If you're immoral enough to cheat, you're just... immoral.

[shockhorror]I also programmed in VB once[/shockhorror], but seeing that you use VB makes me think you just started programming and therefore good cryptology is probably to difficult for you anyways.

Oh god it's sooo long since I've had to use VB (thankfully). Just try to do something with sprites in - that's when you'll hate it!

I dont think you need any cryptology for it, just dont make it possible to edit highscores that were already there.

[shockhorror] I learn Delphi in school [/shockhorror]

VB6, VB.net, Java (we had to use notepad), HTML, PHP, C#, other stuff and some machine code. And that's also a list of programs I just barely know/forgotten the basics to. I honestly think College degrees and University are in most part really fecking useless as they always try to concentrate on too many different things. Same with my 3D modelling course at Uni.

You're better off learning on your own. Just keep in mind that there are probably a 100 people applying for the same job as you and it's *guarenteed* at least a few of them will be better than you with more drive as well. So you really have to push yourself and give up your social life (but try to maintain your social skills as you'll need them for the interview) to make anything out of yourself.

Edit: Sorry for my bitter rant, was so close to getting an apprenticeship at Free Radical before it shut down... :(

it should really have a pause option and it should not start right as you start the program, a little menu screen would be really nice
