Two North American competitive Team Fortress 2 teams, Ascent and Froyotech, are trying to earn funds to compete at Insomnia55 LAN, and they need your help! Hosted in the United Kingdom, the Insomnia series LAN events are tri-annually held gaming festivals, bringing teams from around the world to compete at the highest level in one of the biggest events in competitive TF2. Be sure to check out their indiegogo pages for more information, and help out if you can!

Never heard of any of these things. Maybe they should just have stuck to their faceblog?

"I've never heard of these teams, why are they trying to bring themselves to my attention"

This is just trying to boost the TF2 NA comp scene, I don't really see why posting about it on the TF2 blog would be a bad idea

Since TF2 is starting to focus more on competitive with the upcoming matchmaking update, it is very a good thing to see Valve more involved in that scene. This is saying that Valve is, at the very least, paying attention.

Not to mention Froyotech has B4nny, who is has been a tremendous help to comp mappers (myself included), taking time to sit down and study maps and give feedback. He's also been a huge boost to the TF2 scene in general, being one of the more prolific streamers for the game.
