    Welp, I'm gonna need to post here eventually so I'm putting my post up here for now.


    The theme I went for Is what I'm calling "midnight canyon" basically the same lighting theme used on pipeline but set in a desert setting. The map itself starts in a giant Gulch this leads into a canyon that stretches far beyond the game world. As for red's base It is set into the canyon wall. Inside red is housing a computer database system that is the target for blu.


    currently I'm about 56% done. Ive finished re-textured everything as well as doing new displacements. Ive got basic lighting up to B I still have to work out the skybox and add detail props.

    I still need to tweak a few lights and other things.

    I'm also working on adding a few particle effects into the map. including a campfire, fireflies, and a particle effect when points are being capped.

    I like your use of spytech, but some areas outside just look hastily thrown together. The shack in the first screenshot, for example, doesn't seem like it would exist in any way in reality.

    Your area at C looks much better than the rest of the map. Although, I do like the atmosphere the strands of light gives it.

    Yeah Ive been working considerably more on the C area than the remainder of the map I still need to add additional details to A and B.

    @Nerdboy
    What building are you referring to? please be more detailed in your comments so i can know what you mean.

    anyways both of the buildings are in line for a upgrade.

    I pretty much finished at this point, currently just flying through the map adding details and such as I see them. I plan on Uploading on the 23 if all goes according to plan.

    I updated the pictures at the top with fresh shots. (also added 3 more!)

    by the way, I just need the map uploaded to this thread for entry correct? Just making sure I didn't miss some e-mail or other thread i was supposed to post it in.) ;)

    check again, I had to reupload the file once due to a missing file. I just checked and the map is uploaded and extracts correctly

    Its likely you had the old link, I deleted it to prevent confusion.

    Hey Zero.. just checked out the version of your map from the upload thread..

    When inside and around C point and also in the 'garage' near A my net graph was going nuts for the entity graph.. Not sure if its an indicator of an issue, the framerate seemed fine, but you might want to check it out..

    I was running 'net_graph 2' at the time..

    I can see what you mean. the area between blu spawn and the garage and C point are the places where you can see the most entities. Ive tried my best to optimize these areas and i think the spikes will not cause much problems to performance client side. I've been testing the map out with some friends and bots and no one seems to have an issue on those points.

    I found 2 critical bugs in the map last night so ill do a bit more optimization to those areas in the mean time.

    Ok I updated the map (new links where old links are.) I fixed 3 major bugs i found as well as some optimization as per request(although not much I can do).
