[AoC] will playtest your map

    I am now revamping the way these map tests will work.

    Our clan will be having weekly map tests every Friday at 9:00 pm est. We will play the map for at least 1 hour, regardless of rounds, and then post out critiques it in the forums! Forum link. To clarify, maptests are just a PUG run on a custom map.

    Now the way you get your map tested is to submit it in this thread using this format.

    From this list we will pick a map to be played, and then contact you, the mapmaker on steam.

    While you don’t have to show up yourself for the maptest, it is strongly recommended that you get in the PUG and play with us, so that we can talk to you one on one about the maps problems, and so that you can the most amount of info from this map test.

    PS. You can download the Ventrilo Voip program here. It's a quick thing and will take 5 minutes from the time you open the site till you finish installing.

    I have two maps I'd like to try out on comp players. I've always wanted to hear what they think so I can make my maps for accessible to more people.

    I've got one I'd love to test.

    While my first TF2 map, it's not my first ever map. So I'm very excited to introduce it to everyone.

    It's semi-polished (Lacking detail but basically done) and I'm after some playtesting to see what needs changing and tweaking before I start adding detail to it.

    Its a CTF map, and its been designed to balance each of the classes against one another to provoke exciting pitched battles.

    You can find the map here. It's called ctf_familiar_one.

    Screenshots are also available once they have been moderated.

    The idea was to build a map that was fun to play. Not so much polished and good looking, but fun.

    Could more people please sign up for this? I know this is still a fledgling program, but we need more maps. Don't worry, comp players don't bite, and most tips we provide will also drastically help in pub play.

    I appreciate the offer, but your terms and conditions are very stringent...requiring people to DL a program and such is a bit much

    Due to popular demand, you don't have to be in ventrilo, and you don't have to stay for the entire match. We will playtest your map either way.

    But many of our members are too lazy/ won't remember/ aren't members of TF2maps.net, and won't post too much critique of your maps in the forums, so we strongly suggest that you show up for a little bit to get feedback directly from the players.

    Thanks for map test Icarus and Mangy Carface! They were tons of fun and our clan and community really digged it. Hope you got some very helpful feedback.

    Don't worry Phonic, didn't forget about you, you test will be happening soon.

    We're still smoothing out the process of the map tests, and they will be running faster next time.

    Hope to see more map makers sign up, and remember, you don't have to be the there for the map to be tested, it's just strongly recommended. So don't be shy, and submit your maps.

    How long you want the playtest: 35 Minutes has traditionally been enough for 2 teams who have learned the map to play both sides. Maybe 40 to be safe.
    When could you do it: Most evenings/nights I'm around, the times may vary depending on the day though.
    Development phase: Alpha 7, but everything's been textured at least to start.

    It's a larger map, so playing 6v6 may be an issue. The more people we can get the better.

    This is great. You guys are very helpful :)

    If you want a competitive viewpoint on your map (Recommended for any serious project), these guys can organize help you with a 6v6 fairly quickly.

    Thanks for applying your map, but right now your map still needs work before we can playtest it. As mentioned in you WIP thread, the map is too open to snipers, and points 2 and 4 need cover.
