I have a huge monitor and I have plenty of room beneath the VIS Groups window and I would like to find out if there is a way you can make that window longer, so I can see all of the groups without having to scroll all the time.

    Thanks.

I have this problem too. It used to be bigger and now it is small.

Yes, click beside the VisGroups: and drag the window to a floating position. Resize it, and drag it back in

    You mean like this?

Note that the visgroups window is on my second monitor, the rest of that screen is cropped out...

to drag it off, click and drag the blank space to the right of the word Visgroups, it has to be to the right, not down and to the right, and can't be the word itself.

Ya, you can then drag the blue bar back to the area and it will snap back into the side bar. Thats probably too long, and it will get cut off

this thread has given me the motivation to do something I have wanted to do for a while, and that is customize my hammer interface... this is what I have so far...

this is a screenshot of both my monitors, the seam is down the middle... I could always get rid of chat and make the 2nd monitor full 3d if I want...

flame war? I wouldn't call it that, just two people being helpful :p

the setting to allow creation of movable windows is in the settings
    http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Hammer_General_Options

after you enable it, you have to go to window>new window and change the view to which view you want, for any and all windows you plan to have. you then use the save window state button, it is by the grid buttons, and is a letter S with 3 tiny windows... when you load hammer, if you had dragged hammer to cover multiple monitors like I have done, you have to manually drag that out again (it doesn't remember) then click the Load window state button and your windows will pop to where they were before (they're based on window size, so if you clicked save with hammer over 2 screens, when you load again everything will be scrunched until you do this).

I just figured this stuff out by reading through the above hammer wiki stuff...

also I undocked everything so it wasn't taking up vertical/horizontal room, and I just put it into the blank quadrant I had.

well I wasn't there for very long... singing the song might have annoyed some people, but void and void seemed to overreact but once again I wasn't on that long... up until the point you typed F U nova for half my chat window I would say you didn't need a ban, when people spam my chat I vote for a ban, I wasn't paying attention when you did that so I didn't notice...

Anyways its just temporary... Just be a good boy when you get back in. I have a tendency to argue with people and also need to watch myself :p

Ya, I may have been kinda a dick, but i guess I've learned my lesson for it. I think nova and void need to cool down and stop being so abusive to newer members.
