Hi, I am another newbie in the tf2 (or generally source) mapping. I can not find many good places to learn mapping, so I hope here will be helpful for me For a basic introduction, I am a student in IT (or computer informatics). Know basic programming in C, C++, C#, Visual Basic (until and including file streams). I am trying to improve my programming skills and wish to learn Source SDK also. My hobbies are (did it become very informal? good ) eating, photography, gaming and sci-fi/fantasy-fi stuff... Hi.
Glad to have you w/ us m8 If you can handle C++ (was a nightmare for me), then the Source engine shouldn't give you any trouble. It's pretty easy to learn, there is just a lot of it. I would highly recommend you start by reading through our Tutorial forum. And if you have any quick questions, there's usually someone in Steam Chat who can help. Welcome to the group!
Hi and welcome to TF2Maps.net. If you need help with the entries download this: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=6126 Don't worry about making it pretty just yet. However, feel free to sign up for gameday for some good testing: http://forums.tf2maps.net/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Gamedays are on Fridays in the euro server and Saturday/Sunday in the U.S. server. If you like to make scrips use Source Mod, a very well made editor for source games. http://www.sourcemod.net/
