Am I the only one who thinks they screwed up well?

    CTF_Well now sucks. The Middle Area is Fine and well, but Shortening the bases?!
    Making the sewer System almost useless?

    Why Valve? WHY!?

    I don't play Well enough to care. I'd be more concerned with a significant change to Dustbowl, though.

    I don't care, frankly. I rarely play Well. Never Granary.

    If they start messing up 2fort, Dustbowl, or Gold Rush, I'll be mad.

    i think the changes to ctf_well are a 200% improvement. its faster paced with less stalemates.

    I actually prefer the new well, before ctf matches always devolved into endless frag fests in the middle. Now, the bases just feel a lot more accessible overall, we actually finished a few matches on the server I was on without having to go into any stalemate/sudden death rounds. I'm going to have to wait and see how it plays when 50% of the teams aren't pyros, but for now my impression is positive overall.

    ctf_well is much better now. Although I think they should have left the old one in too and called this one Ctf_well2 or something.

    The original converstion they did from cp_well to ctf_well was the worst conversion imaginable, the changes they've made improve the map to no end.
    Still having said that I don't like it

    they should have made the water tunnels go some where though. At the moment its pretty easy to lock down a team in their base with 2 sentries outside their base door.

    Now sniper matches like on 2fort are possible. But it's harder to kill someone in front of the base with the sniper rifle. But I like the improvements.

    I think using the single train line and containers to mimick the original Well is very, very cool. Same zig zagging patterns, a bit more to look out for, and it's great fun to use the timing of the train to your advantage in mid-map confrontations.

    I however, do not understand why there cannot be true sewer entrance to the flag room, and why the they took the "majesty" away from the flagroom by removing the tower and bridge.

    Much can be improved concerning the flagroom, but I like it MUCH more than the CP Well... which should never have been made in the first place before they properly ported over the CTF version.

    Either way, it's hard to say what problems they ran into, or how much it may have resembled 2Fort's sewers, etc.

    They could have atleast made it prettier. Especially when everyone sees the middle. How many people see the attic or flag room? There's tons of detail there.

    A step in the right direction that needs further honing. Ridiculously large flag room is ridiculous. Remove the top left entrance and the bottom right entrance to the room and shrink it down to 60% of its current size. Connect underwater tunnels.

    Being partial to Engineer, I don't like wide-open spaces.

    Having said that, though, I do feel that the current Well flagroom is an acceptable size considering that there is no sewer access and the upstairs access points kind-of compensate for that. They also help to justify the height of the room - which should always be tall.

    I do miss the bridge and water entrances, though, and think they could have made the theme of the map more Well-like. I do like the ambient sounds of pumps and moving water. I just use to LOVE to "dive into the drink", right after grabbing the flag, just missing the bridge on my way down. :) It's too bad we don't have that in this version.

    Does anyone else find it funny that ctf_well is slowly becoming more and more like Well from TFC?
