Hey all,
I just started dual booting vista and 7. I was wondering how I can access my Steam games that are installed on Vista from Windows 7.

Thanks ;)

I assume you have windows 7 on a different partition right? What i think might work is making a shortcut to your desktop that points to the vista partition in Program Files/Steam/etc.

depending on how much info steam puts in to the registry, this might work.

Run the Steam executable and it will ask to install a service. Install that and you'll be able to run all your Steam games. It's probably my favourite thing about Steam that it barely requires any keys in the registry. :)

I don't think Steam storages a lot of info in the registry. You should just try running it. If you can't run it, do this:

1. Delete Windows 7 installation.
2. Upgrade Vista installation to Windows 7.
3. Start Steam.
4. ??????
5. Profit!!!

EDIT: Too slow... :(

ive done this before with my xp partitan. just browse to your steam folder on your vista partian through 7 and create a shortcut on the desktop or wherever. It works fine no problems
