Hello, sorry this is probably a silly question but I was wondering where the download for hammer is (I have heard that is the map editor).

You have hammer if you have TF2, it's located in your TF2 directory at common/Team Fortress 2/bin/
If this is your first time you should run hammer.bat before .exe
