2007 Contest Helper Scripts

    Over the last week I threw together a script & asset lists for the proposed 2007 Contest

    All assets used by Dustbowl, Granary, Gravelpit, Well (CP), 2Fort & Hydro (.csv format):

    .vmf check script: https://github.com/snake-biscuits/vmf_tool/blob/master/examples/2007_asset_check.py
    (will require vector.py, vmf_tool.py & of course the two .csv files)
    With a little tweaking the script can take any comma separated list(s) of props & materials
    You can use a single list, or even type a short one straight into the script
    Just drag & drop as many .vmfs over the script as you like &it will tell you which assets need changing!
    (Thinking about it named logs with lists would probably be better than the current system)

    Handy if you want to sampling a theme from a few maps
    (Just make sure the Steam Directory in the script is correct & the maps you're sampling are unpacked!)

    I might enter. Is there a specific thread besides this explaining rules and such?

    The 2007 Contest is an idea that has come up once or twice on the Discord
    Nothing official at time of writing as there are concerns limiting asset use is too restrictive as a Contest Premise (at least that's what I've gathered)
    But, I was asked if I could compile a list of assets used in the maps TF2 released with (as I've done similar spreadsheets in the past)
    At the very least I hope these scripts and tables can be a handy guide for keeping to the 2007 look

    I'm actually more interested in 'limited gamemode' aspect of the potential contest. More multistage a/d and ctf need to happen!

    I really love the sense of art/aesthetics and narrative in the original maps, I say we give the contest idea a try and see what happens!
