    Just a heads up, generally in TF2 grate/mesh surfaces don't allow bullets or blasts to pass through them even if it would make sense for them to do so in real life. You may end up with with confused and angry players if you introduce real-world logic into your map which contradicts established...

    the nodraw texture blocks light reaching whatever's behind it, but that may be too crude a solution. If you want realistic dark areas I'd suggest using a very dim light_environment and then extensively lighting wherever you don't want to be dark.

    You should have a .vmx file with your map's name, which is a backup of the map as of your last save. See if that isn't corrupted (you'll have to change the .vmx extension to .vmf first)

    Are you running TF2 in windowed/borderless windowed? If you are, Windows 10 forces triple buffering via its Desktop Window Manager (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_Window_Manager) - this can't be turned off except by running the game in fullscreen proper.

    From your description, it's exactly the same except that BLU doesn't start with the flag, they have to go get it and bring it back, right? You'd just have to move the flag and capture zones.
