    Yes, the textures do appear with mat_fullbright 1 on. Thanks for the tips so far people I'll continue problem solving tomorrow. Edit: Problem solving done, I fixed the black parts by making the wall a func_detail. Idk if it is the most optimal solution, but if it works, it works.

    I have lowered the lightmap scale and added some lights nearby, but nothing has changed. Any other ideas?

    It's just a hammer bug that happens. For the window not to freeze I would just advise you to close the properties window for a prop once you have chosen a model, every single time. I know it sounds annoying, but that's what I do.

    So I found the culprit, and it was a brush which was completely in another brush. I made it a bit larger and poof, gone was the error. Thanks mate.
