Seems to be a fancy trigger_hurt that gibs the player and spawns a moving crocodile model where the player died.

It also seems as if the top of the brush needs to be at 64 units above whatever body of water (or pit) you're using for the splashes and stuff to line up correctly.

Not quite sure I understand, did you also delete your .vmf files as well when you uninstalled Hammer? Or were these saved somewhere else on your drive?
Just an error that means that detail sprites won't show up on displacements and stuff.
To fix, just go into your map properties and changed the "Detail .vbsp file" to "detail_trainyard.vbsp" and "Detail material file" to "detail/detailsprites_sawmill"
