  • I'm getting "bad challenge" errors every time I try to launch the game from Steam's server browser. Any ideas why?

    Did you give it a custom name, such as "Ice Bucket Challenge" or "Cinnamon Challenge"? The game considers those bad challenges. Try renaming it to a better challenge.

    Something dawned on me - does "fast" VRAD use the same lighting as GoldSrc?

    If I knew the difference... But I think, seeing how goldsrc didn't support displacements and how neither does fast rad, maybe, why not reuse the code for such a task?

    I think the GoldSource compilers also have a fast setting, so I don't think so. I think fast lighting might be closer to Quake's lighting.

    @Crowbar That was actually the exact clue that led me to wonder.

    @Dr. Orange Maybe it's the fast lighting from GoldSrc then.
    I suspect the only reason TFC used invade CTF was because CTF was the only gamemode Quake natively supported.
    I wonder if the Mannrobics music will follow the opposite trajectory as the Kazotski Kick and wind up in a jazzercise studio in a CSGO map.

    I've actually had a renewed interest in finishing it, now that the remaster is out and there are potentially higher-quality assets to steal, but I need to wait now until Umodel supports it.
    Confession: It bugs me that some weapons give you a total ammo count that's not an exact multiple of the weapon's clip size.

    Blocks in Minecraft are 1 meter which converts to exactly 40 hammer units.
    I don't know if I plan to PLAY BioShock Remastered, but I sure plan to extract its assets for mapping purposes, hee hee.
