Waste (KOTH) has been updated to Beta 3
This version moves to solve the issues of both confusion from new players, despite the simple rules, and the lack of fiction around the CP.

Beta 3 Release Notes:
-Fixed ammo pickups giving twice as much as normal
-Added more detail and announcer sounds
-Fixed a case where the wrong clock was being displayed on the HUD
-Improved consistancy of dynamic respawn times
-Several bug fixes

I'll be releasing B4 in a moment.

I've found that once you lose the CP, you're probably not going to be able to get it back. So I will be changing how spawns are handled.

I dont know if you heard me because apparently my mic doesnt work in TF2 anymore...it works in everything else.

Anyways, possibly add a progress bar much like the fuel pumps in the center, but to the convenience of each teams' spawn room. It was very confusing to know how much time we had left before we won or lost, having those gauges in the spawn room would clear up that confusion when the center is unreachable for your team and you can't see those progress bars. Other than that, perhaps some kind of 4th path to the center, i know you already have 3 and they suit the other game modes very well, but for KOTH they seemed to me very easily camped making the center impossible. The 4th path idea probably wont be widely accepted i'm just throwing it out on the table.

There are. Just look through the window behind you. Maybe I should make them more noticeable?

oh....yeah i didnt even look through the window, i saw the window but just figured it was background props just to add detail, didnt know there was a gauge back there. My bad

You have really confirmed by thoughts on the map. I will be making a few changes to the map (less cover on the middle, another spawn) and will release a FINAL momentarily

once again, the strength of this map shows in its ability to be adapted to 2 or 3 gametypes.

i believe you had an arena version? i think koth is a better version of arena. the area around that point is well balanced.

from an engie point of view i was able to find a building pattern that was successful. working with another engie [forgot your name, sorry] one would build just up the stairs after exiting spawn. this would be enough to cover the second engies buildings that overlook the cap area behind the corrugated steel after he is done helping the first.

otherwise it would be impossible to go straight to building upfront.

Video is pretty strait forward.

You tell the user how to capture the area and then tell him his timer will begin from where it left off but this is the first time he capped. His timer hasn't begun and you haven't explicitly told him how his timer works.

Further you mention that the enemies time progress will be halted when the enemy hasn't captured the point yet.

If people are confused my guess is it's because of the step or two that could be construed as having been skipped or presupposed. For my part, I get it. But if I was to get confused, my guess is it would be a product of this.

Hey Icarus.

I'm just wondering if your updating this with the new UI for the official KOTH anytime soon. My custom server would love to use your map as the first custom KOTH maps (we use your cp version of waste already and it's one of the most popular maps on the server).

My Arena/ and now KoTH server already hosts Arena Waste. I'm excited to host KoTH waste when the new rules are in place! :D
