So I was told that following this guide would be the best way to make the jungle area of my map look more like a real jungle.
Unfortunately, it has got me slightly confused.
Can someone please help me do what is described in the link I posted?

Don't worry about what?
My inability to comprehend that?
Or don't worry about randomly placing props?

You have to manualy place prop_static objects in the map and you shouldnt use that guide. That guide is about textures that have detail props on them (grass sprites).

Just make prop_static trees and place them in the map like it looks they are random. You cant get them fully random unless you use prop_dynamics which then wouldnt be good for the dynamic entity limit. so just use prop_statics, as far as i know there isnt a limit for those (or a very high one).

I wasn't talking about using it to place trees, I was talking about placing the bushes and such from Spike's Jungle Pack.

Just place them like normal objects. Copy/pasting them is probably easier than trying to figure out how to get that random placement working, it's probably also gonna look best/play best.

As cool as Spike's pack is there is one problem with 'jungle' enviros in TF2.

You add too much foilage in places where players can get to and you get issues like sentries and stickies being easily placed and very hard to see.

I think spike did a pretty good job with his map. There are bushes/trees next to the path, but the players aren't moving through them if I recall correctly.

The sentries won't be a problem as I'll be putting "nobuild" in any areas of dense foliage.
As for stickies, I'll come up with something along the way.

Really?
That makes my life a whole lot easier.
I would've probably spent days searching for a way to make stickies bounce and come up with the same answer...
You just saved me a few days of work. :)

func_brush is better.

But the problem isn't only building inside bushes, it's building on the other side of bush, where the sentry has a line of site automatically and the player can't tell where.

I'd highly recommend avoiding the large bushes except for in detailing off limits areas.

Also being unable to lay stickies is pretty frustrating, people won't like it.
