Hi all

Here is my first map for Team Fortress 2, or any other game for that matter. It is roughly (or quite largely I suppose) based on 2fort, my favourite TFC map from so many years ago. It also seemed like a fairly simple map design.

Just a few points:

  1. I know the style is a bit "random", but its just the way it is, it was my first map, with lots of experimenting, and I was mostly picking models and creating geometry for balanced and fun gameplay
  2. The skybox is stolen from 2fort. Still figuring out how to make a decent skybox and was easier to just borrow one for my first map.
  3. Spawn rooms and the exit doors could use improvement to be more inline with professional exits and with restrictions

Not sure what the best format is to post updates but anyhow....

Original CTF version has received a few updates, mainly the base has been reworked with new spawn points, intel moved to back room, and new route to it added. Other tweaks and fixes too.

In addition to this, I have produced a payload version and a capture point version. although not designed for this and probably looked down upon by mappers, surprisingly the PL version does work pretty good with limited player testing, though the CP version is untested. These were mainly introduced as a learning curve to figure out the 2 modes, and to add some variation on the server as my server is dedicated to my custom maps...of which there is the one "base" map atm, in 3 flavours.
