Dreary

A 5 point linear/push control point map, featuring the new swamp theme.

It promotes an interesting battleground with lots of height variation, open spaces and tight corridoors.

After getting a bit of a block on Nuclear, I thought I would start a new project, well here it is!

Made for both comp/normal server players.

Special Thanks to:

-The swamp theme creators at TF2maps.net
-A Boojum Snark's Gametype Library

@ Psy, yeah its not great- Im thinking of changing it to dismal. :)

@Mtv, It does look too dark, but there is suffiecient lighting on the playable areas- so that each team is easily recognised.
Just a lot of screenshots show the dark background.

I like how you made the CP brighter in contrast to the stark environment, but you should probably put a light prop somewhere to not make it seem to glow unnaturally.

Played this on gameday, unfortunately I didn't download the spawn pack, so I had to deal with pink textures (not your fault!).

The middle CP currently is a smaller box on the platform, and I'd prefer to have the whole platform become the capture area instead. It's too small.
The second CP (from spawn) is quite open and the other team can rather easily destroy whatever I'm building by shooting at them from afar when I'm on defense. It seems like there's no good sentry spots that I can find so far, on that point.

So far from what I played, once a team captures the fourth point, they'll eventually get to capture the last point before the round ends.

This map was very fun! Seems very well designed, save for the part between the second and the middle. It just seemed too far, a little unremarkable and too corridor-ish. Maybe you should enlarge the middle point too.
