Mini-crits now on flare gun

I'm sure some of you have seen this but then you might not have. Basically I found out that if you shoot someone while they are burning with the flare gun it will make a mini-crit. I tested it out on a achievement server to make sure it wasn't "by chance" as most full crits are

That's been known for like... a month or two now. Was added in a patch.

if i remember correctly, this was added during or slightly after the sniper/spy update

Hah hah! Patch note, like Sandvich, IS GOOD FRIEND!

I did some damage testing a while back: Normal flare hits are ~30 with no apparent change for distance, while the mini-crit no burning enemies means a ~40 damage hit.

So mini-critting is not a major improvement, but I'm glad they added it... and it makes nice rewarding sounds when you peg an enemy twice. :)

Makes sense because minicrits are 135% damage.

Yeah, the mini-crits of the flare gun feel pretty satisfying to me. So I agree 100% with you.

I like the minicrit on burning because it means that if I light a scout on fire with the flamethrower, I can hit him with a flare and he'll burn to death before reaching a healthpack.

But yeah, it's been around for quite a while now.

That, in comparaison to the flare gun's minicrit, would make something good even better. The flare minicrits made something almost useless become useful! As we know, bodyshots are very strong and dson't need to be buffed up! Since that update, I changed to flare gun as I was always using the shotgun, even if I'm not effective underwater anymore.

Good thing his suggestion doesn't buff bodyshots then isn't it?
