Hi and welcome to TF2Maps.net new member! :D

Secondly I would like to direct you to the donation box. Sadly some members to go unnamed have had to pull cash out of their own pockets to pay for the site and its 2 servers so any donation would greatly appreciated.

With your donation you will not only be able to remove all ads but get a larger avatar with bigger signature size allowance with images, full text search, an increased 500 PM inbox size, a nifty 'TF2Maps.net Supporter' image tag, the Ability to view other members profile and to top it all off full blog/gallery capabilities

If you need any help with a problem that you think you could fix on your own, you should read through the TF2 Valve Developer wiki and DJive's TF2 Mapping-Link Resources Thread Brandished's Common TF2 mapping mistakes and how to fix them threadand the Tutorial section. Hopefully that will help you get started.

Over here you can find all the Decompiled Valve Maps. However, I can not stress enough that these are for leaning purposes only! We have not been know to act kindly to re-makes and that is not going to change anytime soon! So please keep in mind that these are just for looking and not touching!

If you need help with Entities please consult The Ultimate Mapping Resource Pack made by our very own A Boojum Snark. Were you will find The Prop Library, The Gametype Library, The Improved FGD, and The Pre-fab library

If you are having problems with lighting head over and download Acegikmo's Environment Gallery and Ravidge's Lighting Library

If you are having problems compiling try using the Valve Batch Compile Tool or VBCT for short. If you are still having problems use Interlopers.net's compile error checker and it will tell you what to do.

After you are done with your project you can upload it here or you can use a very useful program that a lot of other mappers use called Dropbox.

After it is uploaded you can make a thread for it here.

Don't worry about making it pretty just yet. However, feel free to sign up for gameday for some good testing. Gamedays are on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the European and U.S. servers.

If you have any other questions, there is usually someone in Steam chat who can help. Anyway welcome to the group!

Lastly don't forget!

Newbies don't read stickies. Everyone knows this. This is why he ended up doing it in the first place. I don't see this helping much!

I find that even non-noobs tend to miss/ignore stickies. But yes, if Political just plugs this thread from his sig or links it in his post, newbies could refer to it in their own time. Rather than being thrown a rather intimidating wall of text the moment they show their face.

This is an awesome compilation of some of the most useful resources offered here. This is now my official link to the site: start here and then click HOME or NEW POSTS and go from there. Good stuff!

The Political Gamer,

I may just be missing it, but after reading [ame="http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=3565"]Immortal-D[/ame]'s thread about all the extra textures, models etc that this community is creating and sharing, it made me realize how much I must be missing - and how much stuff others might actually be "reinventing" because they didn't know about all the goodies in here.

Maybe a link to Immortal-D's thread (or some more comprehensive link) should be added to your original post.

Also, for past, present, and future goodies, would it be possible to make some sort of "registration" page where submitters offer their goods in an original thread, but then also "register" that thread on a page for all community made textures, props, entities, posters, etc. etc.

Very cool, all!

We'll need to drill this into new members heads. Include it in the Email, make it on the homepage for a while.. whatever the cost to prevent fullbright 2fort modifications from coming to life.
