An easy way to do this also is to use your auto vis groups. If you know it is an entity, deselect "auto" than select only entities. Makes it much faster to find the guilty guy.

A quick note: Sometimes the red line leads to an origin outside of the level. For example, in a previous map I took an entire section and translated it about 1000 HU downwards. The entities moved downwards, but not all of them (doors, visualizers, trigger_hurts) translated their origins as well, causing hammer to consider them as being outside the level, creating leaks.

how does an ambient_generic leak?

interlopers shows it as my next leak to fix but the point file points to no hole

No hole anywhere near the line.

Any entity can be the source of the leak. Is that brush an entity, is there a tiny <1unit hole? If all else fails, remake the brush.

Go Maps -> properties and it will select everything, including any rogue entity origins outside your level, which you can then drag back inside.

If a Pointfile seems to be pointing at nothing in particular, it might be because an entity's origin is set outside the map for some reason (happens by accident all the time). Select your whole map, and then center origins (somewhere in the upper toolbar).
