Swamp Pack Issues

Hi!

First of all I have two computers. Both of which I am mapping the same map on, so I switch back and forth from them throughout the day. On each of them, I have the patched swamp pack that I have been using happily. It works great mostly, but I am having problems with missing files. I am missing sky_night_02 files, and particle files. When I run the map, I see no buoy light, or mosquito's. I have no idea how this happened. Please help.

Well, my main problem are the skybox textures. If they happen to be located in the materials/skybox folder then the vtf file for sky_night_02(DN) is missing. I can't seem to find it. I have checked up and down the folder about 20 times...

There is no sky_night_02.vtf because the sky is similar enough to sky_night_01 (which comes with the game) that we had sky_night_02.vmt just reference sky_night_01.vtf

So... I should just use sky_night_01?

Scratch that. This makes no sense. When I compile the map to play, I look at the DN part of the skybox and it just shows a reflection of the rest of the skybox... Do you want me to create a sky_night_02DN.vtf file with the sky_night_01DN.vtf? file?

BY THE WAY. I have no problem with the skybox itself, I am having cubemap problems. The swamp water doesn't reflect the skybox correctly, and I have done buildcubemaps and added an env_cubemap.

...no.
01 has the oil refinery with the light glow on the horizon as well as some clouds.
02 is 'clean' with no refinery, no light glow, and no clouds. But it is the same general dark purple shade of sky so we were able to utilize the same down texture.

What you're talking about isn't the down part of the skybox, it's the bottom half of the side. You (almost) never see the bottom half of the skybox so the textures are only made to fill the top half of the side, and the bottom half ends up like you see.

It's working the way it always does/should with pretty much every sky. Lumberyard's is an exception to this, as the one side is a full square instead of half since the map was designed where you can see the lower half on the low side of the map.
(and my mistake on my previous post, I meant to have the DN part in all the files I mentioned)

For the cubemaps, I suspect you're missing some step in the process, see here.
